The time for change
Life has a way of shifting our perspective.
After several years caring for my partner through early-onset dementia - and eventually losing her - I found myself at a crossroads. That experience made me re-evaluate what I wanted from life. I needed to recharge, to heal, and to reconnect with something deeply creative and meaningful.
So, I paused a long-standing career in IT and started retraining as a jeweller-goldsmith. What began as a personal journey of renewal has grown into a professional practice rooted in storytelling, sustainability, and transformation.
At my first exhibition, Winter Jewels in November 2022 with the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, I was overwhelmed by the response. It confirmed that my work resonated not just artistically, but emotionally and ethically too.
My Practice
I design and handcraft all my jewellery in my studio, using traditional goldsmithing techniques and a modern, sustainable ethos. My collections are inspired by nature, architecture, and - most of all - the materials themselves.
I work almost exclusively with 100% recycled silver and salvaged materials: Formica, fine wood from furniture offcuts, even single-use plastics repurposed to ensure they’re anything but disposable. Each piece is a reflection of contrast.
My collections are shaped by the materials I find. Once those materials are gone, the collection ends - making each piece truly limited and unique.
Sustainability
The silver I use is 100% recycled and the majority of the materials in my work are recovered and salvaged waste. From my raw materials to my packaging I aim to be as sustainable as I can and consciously minimise the use of single-use or other materials with a high environmental footprint.
Sustainability isn’t a trend - it’s a commitment. I believe in giving materials a second life and reminding us of their worth. I aim to elevate what’s often overlooked.
Community & Collaboration
I’m proud to be part of a vibrant community of makers and artists. As a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, the Wessex Guild of Craftsmen, The Artful Collective and other creative networks - formal and informal, I regularly exhibit across the South of England and love connecting with customers, fellow makers, and students through events and workshops.
